| The Ionian Academy was the first university of modern Greece established in 1824 after an interior renovation and a floor addition on the east part towards Spianada. After the Union of the Ionian islands with Greece the Public Library operated until burned on 1943. Under the Venetian rule it initially operate as a barrack. Today you may find the registry of the Information Systems Department of Ionio University and Deans’ office. |
