Northeast part of Corfu is one of the most famous areas and attracts a lot of people. Many British, some of them quite famous like Rothschilds family, had a property up there(recently sold). The reason it attracts so many people is that this part is well protected from the Mistral wind which blows during the summer. Even when it is windy it is almost offshore so the water is flat. Enough with that. Rent a boat from Dassia or preferably Ipsos and make sure you have the snorkelling gear with you. Also arrange with the boat company the return hour and if there are any hidden costs.
If you start from Ipsos then a nice first stop is in Barbati. Beach is mainly pebble but it is safe with calm waters. You can take a coffee in ‘Piedra Del Mar’ Bar – Restaurant and continue up North. Next stop could be Nissaki where you can chill out in ‘Mitsos’ taverna. Beach is small but you can let the kids snorkel around. By now it must be around 11:30- 12:00 and we head up in Erimitis area. Do stop in some of the secluded beaches but take extreme care of some small and shallow reefs. Preferably stop in Akoli and Vromolimi. At that time there might be a breeze in the area so if you do not feel comfortable you can return to Agni beach and have a wonderful lunch at ‘Toulas’ or in Kerasia beach at taverna ‘Fagopotion’. If you decide to continiue further North you have two options. Stop in Avlaki, a beach near Kassiopi and visit ‘Cavo Barboro’ taverna or continue to Kassiopi harbor and try ‘Old School’ taverna.
