‘Canal d ‘Amour’ or ‘Channel of Love’ (originally known as ‘Stenis’) is a beach of exceptional beauty, located in the traditional village of Corfu, Peroulades. Although many people from the nearest area, Sidari, tried to take advantage of this unique beach and promote it as part of their region, this is groundless.
It is one of the most popular area and has a big reputation for the famous carved clay rocks and blue waters that make up an exotic backdrop. You will discover that the rocks seem to rise from the sea and because of friction with the waves they form strange shapes.
Find time to swim around and discover hidden caves but the best part is that of cliff diving! The water is not all of the time clear since after a strong Mistral clay from the cliffs makes the water really cloudy.
The legend says that if a couple swim together in these waters will be together forever!
It is worth noting that in the area there are traces of Neolithic era dating from 3000 BC and according to the evidence so far is the oldest of the island.
A must go visit!
